It's SPRING! Well, in some parts of the country. . .in my part of the country it's spring, then winter, then summer, then winter again. But, in preparing for spring, I have a few recipes I whip up, just to be ready.
To avoid the stuffy-headed sneezies I used to prepare my own capsules using veggie caps, lavender, lemon and peppermint oil. I would mix these oils to support open airways. This recipe works like a charm, but to carry all of that with me and to try making caps while in the car, etc. . .leaves a bit to be desired. You can't make them too far in advance as the oils will melt the veggie cap.
doTERRA has a product called TriEase. These little gems are a proprietary blend served in a very convenient caplet, which is easy to swallow and goes to work quickly. This is so much easier to carry in my purse and I only need one, to support clear breathing. So now, my prep consists of making sure I have these on hand, putting a few in my pill bag and dropping them in my purse. Side note: doTERRA is offering TriEase at a 10% discount this month! When I said I "stock up", yes, I took full advantage of this sale!
I also make a roller bottle of DigestZen, diluted with Fractionated Coconut oil. Surprisingly, this blend of oils, meant for digestion, is amazing for clearing sinus congestion. I keep it handy to roll across the bridge of my nose and my forehead for quick relief of sinus pressure. This can also be diluted further for children to use. My Lil Miss is so used to oils that when I hand her a bottle she either rubs the closed lid across her nose or on her feet. Being a daycare toddler, she is constantly bombarded with things which stuff up her little sniffer. Even cutting new teeth stuff her up. This is a natural solution which doesn't make her drowsy or fussy. She gets a couple of good sneezes in and we're all clear.
The next thing I stock up on are Breathe lozenges. These would also be good for anyone participating in athletics as a way to keep airways open and the oxygen flowing. Again, easy to carry in a purse, gym bag or back pack, these are made with doTERRA's Breathe Respiratory Blend.
I use my diffuser in the living room, and bedrooms in our home. I also have one which runs off USB and fits in the cup holder of my car. A diffuser uses water to disperse oils as microparticles, into the air. It is a great way to get the value of oils aromatically and helps your space smell so great!
